Position: Director / Pastor (if ordained) of Student Ministries
Status: Full-Time
Redeemer Presbyterian (PCA): Redeemer is a Gospel-Centered, Bible teaching, relationally driven, reformed church located in the suburbs of Raleigh, NC. Redeemer exists to help people come to know and follow Jesus in all areas of life for the glory of God and the good of our neighbors in Raleigh and the world. Raleigh is a thriving, diverse, family-oriented community with strong schools and a growing economy. Raleigh is regularly rated as a top city in which to live and work. In addition, Raleigh is within a couple hour drive to the mountains or to the beach.
Planted in 1997, the Lord has blessed Redeemer with a season of growth and currently shepherds ~550 members with about 70 students (7th -12th graders). Staff currently includes the Senior Pastor, Associate Pastor of Adult Discipleship, a full time Children’s Ministry Director, two part-time Administrative Assistants, and we are also in the process of hiring for a new position, Worship and Community Pastor. Our previous Student Ministry Pastor left at the end of December 2025.

Position summary:
This Director of Student Ministries / Pastor of Student Ministries is a full-time member of the church staff, responsible primarily for the Student Ministry of the church. This person is expected to love the Lord and love being in relationship with students in 7th-12th grades. He is responsible for a relationally driven, word and gospel centered ministry that helps students come to know and follow Jesus in all areas of life. This is a great role for an experienced student ministry pastor or for someone pursuing ordained ministry. Lord willing, the ideal candidate will remain in this role 4-6 years.
Responsibilities and Tasks
Relationships
· Faithfully pursue students by investing time individually in their lives by going to their school and extra-curricular events, i.e. plays, sports, graduations, etc.
· Promote loving, welcoming and fun community for growth in grace
· Humbly engage students with the Gospel through grace and love
· Develop relationships with the parents of the students
· Recruit, equip and encourage adult volunteers to love and disciple students
Teaching
· Participate as part of the teaching team for Student Ministry Sunday School and be the primary teacher at Large Group Gathering
· Oversee small groups (lead guys groups as needed)
· Informal teaching/coaching/counseling in one-to-one interaction with students
Administration
· Oversee and plan large group gatherings, small groups, Sunday school, social events, service projects, retreats, conferences, and mission trips
· Maintain up-to-date student information
· Prepare and oversee youth ministry budget with the help of the finance team
· Oversee and maintain the information on the student ministry section of the website
· Provide regular communication to parents, students, and volunteers through email, text, social media etc.
Miscellaneous
· Participate in weekly sermon preparation meeting
· Collaborate with the Children’s Ministry Coordinator especially on 5th and 6th grade gatherings
Perform other ministry duties assigned by Redeemer leadership based on the needs of the church and the person’s unique gifts and experience
· Meet regularly with the Senior
· pastor for encouragement and equipping
· Attend annual Youth Leader Training (YLT) run by Reformed Youth Ministry (RYM)

An understanding and commitment to the Reformed Faith
· Become a member of Redeemer or if ordained, become a member of Eastern Carolina Presbytery
