Hope Counseling Services Conference—Be Still, My Soul: Understanding and Addressing Anxiety.

*Please note: This event is not being held at Redeemer (Location address below)

Event Title: Be Still, My Soul: Understanding and Addressing Anxiety

Event Description: Nearly all of us have experienced anxiety at some point in our lives, and some battle it everyday. How can we "be still" and "know God" (Psalm 46:10) in the midst of mounting fear and panic? This seminar will provide rich biblical perspectives on anxiety and will highlight practical ways of addressing this common struggle.

Speaker: Dr. Mike Emlet, CCEF Faculty

Dr. Emlet holds an MD from the University of Pennsylvania and an MDiv degree from Westminster Theological Seminary. He worked as a family physician for over ten years before joining the Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation (CCEF). Mike has counseled for many years and is the author of CrossTalk: Where Life and Scripture Meet, which explores the use of Scripture in counseling, as well as Descriptions and Prescriptions: A Biblical Perspective on Psychiatric Diagnoses and Medications. Mike is married to Jody, and they have two children. He is active in his urban church and enjoys gardening, camping, and creating wheel-thrown pottery.
